Tropico Motorsports is a small virtual racing outfit based in the caribbean paradise of Tropico. They have sought entry to the Really Rubbish Racing championship for Season 5, MEMES, with a view to entering further championships in the future. The team disappeared into obscurity after failing to turn up for event 2 of their second season, OSCAR. Over 2 years later and in true dictatorial style, a pair of rookie drivers claimed the team as their own and entered into the International Masters of Formula R 2.0 season, recording some of the team's best results. Unlike some single seater teams that have resurfaced in recent years, the new Tropico Motorsports is seen as a full continuation of the earlier outfit.

Tropico Motorsports was founded by the great, benevolent, handsome and ruthless leader El Presidenté as a plaything, kind of like the Red Bull F1 team, mainly as a way to attract the ladies and to have something else to gamble on.
Finding a Driver
After extensive trials including invitations to other caribbean nations, El Presidenté quickly realised that there was no-one in the region of the required standard to drive for the team. Persuaded by his advisor, Penultimo, not to drive for the team himself due to the enhanced risk of assassination, El Presidenté put a plan in motion to capture a driver from another country (known in Tropico as "hiring a foreign expert"). Unfortunately, due to a case of mistaken identity, the Tropican spies failed to capture Jean Alesi and instead returned to Tropico with the unsuspecting I am Jamm. Convinced by El Presidenté's dazzling charisma (and the extensive torture rituals used within the Tropican prison system) Jamm eventually agreed to drive for the team.
Driver secured, the team entered Really Rubbish Racing hard and fast, completing their registration in time to participate in Season 5.
Season 5: Mid-Engined, Mid-Eighties Series
Main article: MEMES
Jamm was able to source sponsorship from the established British sportswear brand Reebok, racing seat manufacturer Recaro and a small Austrian energy drink company called Red Bull. Jamm will be piloting a C 425 tuned Lancia Stratos in the 3rd round of each event.
The team finished 15th in their first season, recording a best finish of 7th overall, and Jamm finshed as (a distant) runner-up in the rookie championship. The season was not without controversy for the small team, missing event 2 because of Presidenté's appalling gambling on llama racing and Jamm having an awful Event 6.
Season 6: Open Season Championship Auto Racing
Main article: OSCAR
Season 6 features a new concept, introduced by original member Bookoi - an open season of stock races, chosen by the racers themselves.
After the initial sign up phase in June 2012 was complete, the 24 Really Rubbish Racers with the highest number of race starts were given one race each, for which they could submit their choice of car and track to race on. These choices were made in secret, with the full line up being revealed in a video on July 5th. Team team's choice was to race the John Cooper Works Minis around Positano reverse and this race will take place in the second half of the season.
Season PC3: International Masters of Formula R 2.0
Main article: International Masters of Formula R 2.0
2 years after the Tropico name disappeared from RlyR competition, the team was reborn by rookies Jims709 and Smidgey who "bought" the rights to the name and assets (of which there were none, so buying them cost nothing) and entered into the International Masters of Formula R 2.0 season
The Inaugural Cruddy 125
Main article: The Inaugural Cruddy 125
The team only made a last minute entry into the Cruddy 125, only deciding to enter on race-day. A lack of preparation time meant that the team did not have a car or livery prepared, leading to them "borrowing" a stock Acura from the RRR clubhouse. A lack of pre-qualifying meant that I am Jamm would be entering in the "unofficial lobby 2" CruddyLights (spec cars, rather than the tuned versions used in the full Cruddy 125) race. Morning qualifying saw the team take second place behind the Acura of Firecruiser Racing, with ART and Flying Kiwi Racing completing the grid.
The race was initially very close, with lots of passing amongst all four competitors. Unfortunately, the first round of pit-stops spread the field out and slip-streaming was no longer an option. Jamm pitted on the last available lap, having pumped in a series of hotlaps to build a gap at the front and emerged in first place, holding this until the end of the race. Once the results were merged with lobby 1, Jamm was in 11th place, nearly 3 minutes behind the overall winner. This was 6 places higher than it should have been due to several disconnects/dimension flips from lobby 1.
