<< Previous Special Event ----- Next Special Event >> |
Spring Break 2014 is Really Rubbish Racing's twenty-seventh Special Event. After the immense popularity of the third annual Merry Crashmas event, it was decided that we should "...do this more than once a year". So we will. Whereas Merry Crashmas celebrates the annual Pagan winter festival of bad gift giving, eating too much, and spending time with family members who you hate, Spring Break commemorates that special time of year when American students leave their colleges and universities for 2 weeks, head somewhere warm and sunny, and simultaneously drink too much and take all their clothes off.

Event Format & Regulations
Event Format
The event will consist of six races, each awarding points to the top eight finishers. The grid for all races will be randomly assigned and feature standing starts. All races take place in a heavily modified parking "lot" known as Demolition Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The course features concrete barriers, crossovers and jumps.
Race Regulations
Competitors will take part in 6 races across two versions of the Demolition Arena. 3 races on the short circuit, and 3 races on the long circuit. All races will be 20 laps long and should last 10-15 minutes.
There are three rules:
- Driving the course in the reverse direction is prohibited.
- Cutting a cross-over section will require the current lap to be completed again.
- When wrecked, do not spectate or continue to the race results screen. Doing either of these things will cause your wrecked car to disappear from the track. A track littered with wrecked cars is far more interesting.
There are two further recommendations:
- Have a beer nearby.
- Race in cockpit view. it's far more fun when you can't see all around you.
Car Regulations
All competitors will use the game's stock Jupiter Eagleray Mk4 entered under their team name as used in previous competitions. This is to be painted in their team's custom livery complete with race number, all of which can be changed in the game's main menus.
Entry List
Race Driver: GRiD allows for online lobbies of 12 players, allowing 12 Really Rubbish Racing drivers to compete.

Race Results & Event StandingsPoints
In true form to American motorsport, the number of points available is stupidly vast. The driver with the most points after all six races will be the winner of the event. In the event of any tied scores, results countback will be used. If scores are still tied after countback, the driver with lowest combined race time over all five races will finish the the higher position. Event points will be awarded to the top eight positions in all races, regardless of whether all cars finish the race. Which they won't. As an extra incentive this year, points will not be awarded to the driver who is wrecked first in each race. One point will be deducted every time a driver apologises for an incident over voice chat.
