The Xbox One version is 60fps so there's no reason for it to be less on PC.

It's only coming to PC (along with Fable and others) because the Xbox One isn't selling well enough for exclusives to make back their costs, and secondarily to pay lip service to the idea that Windows 10, Xbox and Windows Phone are really all one unified platform.

I thoroughly expect it to be "Xbox on PC" with all the silly restrictions that implies.

Still a rumour currently, no announcement by Microsoft or Turn 10.

If it does come to PC, I am worried about how well supported either version would be, given that Turn 10 can barely keep up with the issues that Xbox One players are having with various aspects of the game.

That being said, if a Forza title does make it to PC and has cross-play, that would be interesting.

To be fair to Turn 10, whenever I see a screenshot of Forza Motorsport 6, it takes me more than a double take to realise it's not a photograph, moreso that Project CARS or Assetto Corsa. The graphics certainly do look incredibly lifelike, which is all in the lighting, and they've done the lighting incredibly well.

Their car models have this high fidelity feel to them as well, where they actually look "solid" and not simply a texture map atop a wireframe.

You wouldn't go all the way to Geneva just to announce a DLC (not even Porsche). I suspect we'll see a new game announced.

Could be anything:

  • Porsche Pack
  • Forza Horizon 3
  • Windows 10 versions
  • "Third Forza title"
  • Old Forzas backwards compatible

I'll leave speculation to the wild masses and just wait a few days :)

Based on the announcement it looks like Forza Horizon 3 will be revealed at E3, with this Lamborghini being the cover car.

In other news, there's a bunch of Lambirghini Rivals and League events taking place this month where you can win exclusive versions of the Super Trofeo cars.

I'm sure @Austin Ogonoski will like this one: Monza's a heavily exploitable circuit when it comes to hotlapping, and Turn 10 staff themselves are cutting corners :|

---

Image

Earlier this week, Turn 10 announced a set of Lamborghini-themed events where some exclusive cars can be won. That in itself is a pretty cool thing as it gives people something to do.

One of those is a Rivals event (Hotlapping) where the higher-placed drivers get a more exclusive prize. This week that Rivals event is at Monza, and it has become known that you can cut almost every corner and keep a "clean lap".

Here is a clip where I set a clean lap despite cutting at least 5 corners (lap starts at 0:40).

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

This was known for a few days before I set my lap but I didn't see much footage of it online.

There's a thread about corner-cutting on the forums which elaborates on this.

The interesting thing however is that a number of Turn 10 staff members are also cutting these corners, essentially endorsing this exploit with their actions. You can check their Ghost laps in-game and see them clip the same corners.

Based on a quick comparison I did yesterday, exploiting these corners makes your lap 2 seconds faster if you hit them right.

There has always been issues with corner cutting in Forza for as long as I have played. T10 have and will never bother to listen to all the ranting in them forums. So......

When in Rome......

Jerome D’Ambrosio and Buenos Aires ePrix race winner Sam Bird will go head-to-head in a virtual racing battle as the headline feature of the second FIA Formula E Championship Race Off.

The Dragon Racing driver and the DS Virgin Racing star will use the Formula E cars in Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport 6 on Xbox One for virtual bragging rights. The event takes place at ESL Studios in Leicester on March 19, and you can be a part of the action too.

Two semi-finals will be used to decide the entry list for the grand final where the successful racers will go up against the actual Formula E drivers. All the action will be broadcast as live by BT Sport that evening. The overall winner will be invited to a special event to be staged later in the year.

Last pack within the Season Pass. The Jag is nice but there's nothing here that's going to pull me away from Rocket League for long; Forza Motorsport 6 is pretty much a secondary game to me now.
