That looks awesome. Especially love the colour blending on the track map. Is vinyl design still done in a similar way to FM4? If so, thats doubly impressive with those smooth transitions!

The paint editor's pretty much identical to Forza Motorsport 4, although you can now get matte body colours on all cars. The track map is actually a white layer mask/stencil I made, with the gradient underneath.

Always good to see that in the two games since, they've still not implemented a camera you can move anywhere you want.

Too scared to show people what's "backstage" I guess (in this case unloaded textures that will make uneducated gamers think the game's broken).

This is a replica design, one which was relatively easy to do considering the simplicity of the original. I've been driving the Alfa 33 in this week's Historic League and like it enough to make it one of my main A/700 cars.

There are a number of paint glitches and curiosities that I had to play around however, the most notable being the red bleed within the headlight units. That can be filed with black but unfortunately it duplicates onto the bonnet, so I had to make some compromises. The numbers and text on the sides also cross the "texture barrier" between the sides and the top of the car, which meant that the top half of each had to be lined up from the roof view, with compensation made for distortions.

Despite the issues mentioned above I'm happy with the result. I don't normally go for retro liveries but this was one car that deserved an accurate replica.

I'm amazed you managed to find a 'livery' (if you can even call it that as it's just some numbers ;) ) since that car was only ever entered in competition once. Should have gone for a livery from one of the proper T33s!

I love how in Forza they have to put a barrier up to the apex to stop corner cutting.

In previous titles, you would find "sticky grass" on the inside of corners that would slow your cars dramatically. While that was somewhat effective at stopping corner-cutting it also caused a few issues of its own.

For Forza Motorsport 6, Turn 10 got rid of all the sticky grass, but had to install barriers instead to help prevent people cutting corners. It works for the most part but some circuits like Yas Marina are still heavily exploitable despite this.

Having raced a lot of Forza these past few months I tend to agree.

Sticky grass itself was not the issue, but rather Turn 10's implementation of it. At some points it was too close to the apex which meant that legitimate racing lines and minor errors were punished severley (we all know about Indianapolis).
