This will be my 300th event.

Image

My first was the Belgian Grand Prix in the first F1 2011 season, finishing 8th.

Image

My 100th was the Season 6 event at Road Atlanta. I qualified on Pole and finished 10th in the race.

Image

My 200th was the Miata Masters at Bernese Alps. I finished 3rd and would later go on to win the Drivers' and Teams' Championships.

That was a massacre.

Over a minute of penalties from hitting spectators, makes my quote from streaming my run a few rounds ago come to mind again

Drive cautiously, knowing it's Group B at Poland
Avoid hitting anything
"Oh this is OK, I can push a bit harder!"
Hit something
Repeat forever

Jokes aside, that was a decent enough run and I mostly avoided death despite some proper scares and knocking out half of my lights in the final stage. I was more cautious in the wet stages which not coincidentally were probably my best runs.

Had pace for P2 and I think I won a Stage, but I pushed a little too hard and had a reset that cost me 40 seconds, so P4 for me.

A little surprised to end up with second place here after a very small amount of practice, especially compared to Germany where I ended up... second.

First stage was a bit slow but most importantly steady with no real mishaps. Stages 2 and 3 were pretty decent, though actually dropped a bit of time with a half-spin on the latter one. Stage 4 was the one I'd practiced the most and therefore made a complete mess of with three separate costly mistakes, including one of those super annoying slow motion rolls where I was on two wheels for what felt like a long time and then sliding on my roof for an even longer time. Probably lost up to 30s there.

Stage 5 was ok, but really need to have a word with Phil on some of those pace notes. Stage 6 I'd not actually got all the way through of in practice, but hoped that if I just concentrated and took it easy I'd get through unscathed and not concede too much time. Fortunately just held on to my position and kept up @Sam Hill's unenviable record of close finishes (sorry/not sorry).

Congratulations once again to @BlueSpearman! In a rally where small mistakes would be punished, he took the most dominant win all season, 80 seconds ahead of @supernicebob, while @Sam Hill took the final podium place, but desperately close to the runner up spot!

Behind the podium, 4th to 9th were separated by just over 90 seconds, which is pretty competitive considering it was a smaller field and a punishing rally!

  1. @BlueSpearman 28:42.695
  2. @supernicebob +1:20.397
  3. @Sam Hill +1:22.928
  4. @PJTierney +1:41.498
  5. @lazaros18 +2:09.331
  6. @sin_racing +2:21.021
  7. @Not Joseph +2:27.456
  8. @MrRandom287 +2:58.967
  9. @camp_bell +3:16.470
  10. @carrot1401 +5:27.082

Updated championship standings are here. Mark only needs to finish on the podium to secure a third successive rally title which, not to jinx it or anything, he's managed in every round so far.
