After an energising first 2020 season, it's back to petrol engines for this one, welcome to the Realish Racing Touring Car Cup campaign! From May to August, we'll see ourselves running a whopping 24 races of touring car action around the worl.. nah, let's keep that for later - around race tracks! And in true TCR fashion, the acronym must not match the name, so let's look at RRTCR 4's details!
Unlike with Formula Ree's engine re-badging, this one will see us facing actual car choice again, and boy what a choice it is! No less than 7 models are available to choose from, with the VAG group offering us three vehicles alone in the Cupra
and Audi RS3
! France and Italy chip in with the Peugeot 308
and the Alfa Giulietta
, and Asia's manufacturers are supplying the Honda Civic
alongside the Hyundai i30
The mod itself is a payware mod available on Tommy78's store
- as with previous seasons, we do realise that payware mods aren't to everyone's taste, but with mods on par with stock content quality, we think it's fair game.
To top it off, just like with HETM, we were able to work with Tommy to get a discount
going, dropping the package from 14€ to 11€ - contact one of the admins here or on Discord for the code (which is limited to 20 uses, so don't waste too much time)
Not enough yet? Fair - again, just like with HETM, both the champion and a random participant decided after R4, there'll be two club cup design tokens
up for grabs!
The cars will be used at normal fuel and tyre consumption with BoP settings baked into the Realish mod update package that is on the FTP now and to be installed as an update to the base mod - this will create a "RRTCR4" category within the Realish Racing section.
With three seasons of touring car championships (and a club cup!) done in the past, many tracks have already seen us running hot hatches, so we just had to look elsewhere, didn't we? And we did! All RRTCR 4 events will see us racing on fantasy circuits
, while still featuring a return to recent and very, very past tracks alike! None of them are DLC either:
24/05/2020 – Toban (medium layout, workshop
31/05/2020 – Loch Drummond (short layout, workshop
28/06/2020 – Circuit de Boers (workshop
05/07/2020 – Lester (workshop
26/07/2020 – Bay Raceway (workshop
02/08/2020 – Tiger Moth (R1 layout, workshop
23/08/2020 – Magnificent Park (national layout, workshop
30/08/2020 – High Speed Ring (link
The season will consist of 8 rounds running on Sunday evenings, beginning on the 24th May 2020
and ending on the 30th of August
. Qualifying will be taken care of via a 15 minute session deciding the R1 and R2 grid (2nd fastest lap), with R3 being a top 12 reversal of the second race.
What?! Three races? Indeed! But no length variation this time around, for we'll be looking at three races of 20 minutes each.
With fantasy circuits usually not located on the face of this earth, a random top 50 capital city
will be selected for each week's roll call that will decide what weather
is being used for that round, potentially seeing us run in Vienna's summer sunshine before heading to Baghdad the week after!
As ever, trophies will be given out for the driver, team and newcomer title - points for these will be awarded down to 8th position: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
- no flap points this time around though!
Liveries will be mandatory - templates will be available on the FTP soon and elements marked as not to be changed are, I know, this is unexpected: Not to be changed. Windows will be supplied by us.Sponsorships
are preferred to be unique or appropriate to you, as if you had sought the sponsorship for yourself. As ever, tobacco and firearm sponsorship is prohibited, and liveries are to contain nothing illegal, immoral or offensive (which we will have final say on).
Drivers running as a two-car team do not need to run the same livery while making them distinguishable if they do, e.g. via recoloured mirrors or the like.
Any rookies are free to join the Realish Racing New Driver Programme if they wish, to avoid the hassle of setting up their own team or having to find a team mate.
Keep in mind these cars feature the new material shaders
and while it's a bit complicated
, it can be well worth it. This is not mandatory by any means though - in fact, a well-thought out 'classic' livery will still outshine all that chrome that one might put on a car just because it's there.
Once again, we're going to need to compile all liveries into a pack for everyone to download, so there's yet another livery deadline - May 20th
, to be specific.
