Stewarding Post - Autopolis

Pit Entry: On the left after the final corner
Pit Exit: Rejoin on the left of the main straight, please announce pit exit.

Track Notes
This is a tough track to overtake at. If you're lapping a slower car, please be patient and remember that lapped cars have the right to run their own race. Likewise, if you're a lapped car, please try to move over when you can (ie on straights).

The first corner is quite fast so please be careful. Let's try not to start the season with a turn 1 smash.

Track limits aren't a major issue here due to grass/gravel traps; however, please keep two wheels within the track limits at all times.

Event Notes
These cars do not tolerate contact at all well and even a slight touch will cause damage. As such, we will take a hard line on avoidable contact where we find it/where it's reported.

We will review lap 1 of both races as well as any incident reports. Please report incidents to @Lin1876 or @lemming77 on this forum or Discord by 19:00 UK time on Tuesday, 10th September 2019.

Certainly not how I wanted to start the season. After having a really good run going and was in a pretty good battle with @cosmo when rFactor decided to lock up completely. Had to initiate a full reset of my system and once it came back up it had to initiate a re-install of rFactor 2. I apologize again if the lockup caused issues for anyone. Now waiting for a full install of rFactor 2 and will do my best to be at the next race. Based on the run I was having I have pretty good pace in this car and looking forward to this season.

Quali: 6th.

Race: Good start, then screen freeze. #justrf2things Fought back to 6th.

Race The Second: Good start from 3rd, then it went wrong. Went straight on at the hairpin and lost 6 places. Fought back to Craig-th.

That was fun!

Very happy to be back. I have not been well lately. I'm still not well, but that's another story. I think neglecting going racing has not helped matters. I decided fairly late on to race today, and I'm glad I did. These cars are brilliant. So a great way to make a return.

Quali: P10. Alright, I guess. I have a lot to find. Thanks @sin_racing for the setup!

R1: had a few offs. Had some battles. Kept it fairly clean. Came home P8 after losing out to @MrRandom287 late on.

R2: didn't start well from pole. Battled with @Chris Williamson for much of the race. P8 again. Yay!

I'd say the first lap of the sprint race was my highlight. Still lots of fun! I have some testing to do.

That was excellent. Seems like I have legitimate pace in these cars but a podium in the first race of the season was beyond even my most optimistic hopes. Hopefully I can continue to challenge for best of the rest and tonight wasn't a fluke. Race 2 I got caught up in the pack a bit but I had a fun battle with @ajokay and @CuruxaUK en route to 4th.

Thanks everyone for turning up and I hope the newcomers will come back for more. It was good to have such a healthy grid even with a few people missing.

Quali: could only manage a low 1.42 and 10th, had the pace in practice for a 1.41.7 which would have put me 6th...

Race 1: Too busy looking around me and missed my braking point for T2 on lap 1, locked up and hit Ryan like a twat. Several mistakes later meant car was crabbing so had to pit. Then drafting Ryan over the s/f line he lagged backwards, I shit myself, brake and downshift accidentally, blowing the engine :o DNF

Race 2: small mistake in Sector 3 lap 1 sends me off, then lonely race for the remainder, finishing P10

TL;DR - not on the pace, too many mistakes =

Sorry Will, seems like I have a magnet for you. :o

Qual: Even though I qualified 13th, this was actually a fantastic result for me. a 1:44.042 was my PB on the track so I was quite pleased with that.

Race 1: I was a bit messy and had some nerves with it being my first official race and not wanting to yeet into too many people. I had a few errors and spun a few times, pushing too hard or pushing on worn tyres. Still I was happy to finish and I managed 10th, which I'll take even though it was down to some DNFs.

Race 2: Similar story to race 1, I was feeling a little jaded after the first session and had lost some concentration. I had a battle with Matthew Wheeler for 11th, which consisted of us taking turns to spin off and the other passing. With me losing it on the penultimate lap and handing him 11th.

Overall I had fun, but I would certainly like to improve and become more competitve. I could do with learning how to set up a car.

Q: Got in a stonker of a lap to get pole. P1

R1: Had a dreadful start and went back to third. Had to make my way past @sin_racing before giving chase to @KJP93. Tried to drive fast enough to gain one or two tenths a lap while taking care of the tyres up until that mistake from Kyran gave me the lead. Made sure to push so that he couldn't get near me and managed to take win no. 5 here at Realish. P1

R2: Couldn't get through the pack at the start and a tour of the local sand pits didn't help, carved my way through the field slowly but surely with some slightly risky moves along the way, and, to quote Jarno Trulli, "pushed like a hell" to get close to Kyran again. Managed to claw back 7 seconds over the course of that race but got 6 tenths shy of the win in the end. P2

Don't think I've ever had a better round than Autopolis in my time here at Realish. Hopefully I can keep this form up for the next rounds. Lots of fun in the end and hoping for more battles like that at the front in the races to come.

Drivers Involved: @TheGwiiBird (#38), @cosmo (#2)
Event/Race: S29 - Autopolis Race 1
Timestamp: 303
Short Description: Will appears to brake too late and runs into Josh at the apex. Will ends up spun and Josh carries on.
Verdict: REPRIMAND for Will Fry
Comment: We found that Will Fry baked far too late for this corner, and that made an accident inevitable. This was exaccerbated by being on the first lap, surrounded by traffic when downforce is at a minimum and other cars to hit are everywhere. Everyone was warned by Campbell before the race that these cars are very susceptible to damage with light contacts, and our verdict reflects that.

Unhappy with this verdict? You may appeal the decision by contacting the admin team: PM Alex | PM Björn
